Print This Page Cod VIIb-k Monthly Catch Limits
UK - During the South West Quota Advisory Group meeting that was held in December 2011 a monthly catch limit plan was discussed for cod VIIb-k for the under 10 metre pool.
The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) states that the allocation for cod VIIb-k has been increased following a total allowable catch (TAC) increase which was given at the December Council held in Brussels. The final allocation is not yet known.
The MMO has received views from both the netting and commercial rod and line communities and have subsequently held an internal meeting to ensure that we are striving to achieve a fair balance for all involved in this fishery.
The initial plan for catch limits for the year is therefore as follows.

Every effort will be made to follow the above plan. However, if uptake is higher than expected catch limits may need to be reduced at short notice.
