The launch of Marine Harvest's offer was conditional upon Cermaq terminating its deal with the Peruvian feed company Copeinca.
Cermaq however fundamentally disagreed with Marine Harvest's views and still firmly believes that the Cermaq-Copeinca acquisition is the way forward.
The Cermaq Board of Directors also concluded that the Marine Harvest offer significantly undervalued Cermaq.
